Remembering Four Chaplains Who Gave Their Lives
Dr. Chaps reports the news that Feb. 3 marks the anniversary of the sinking of the United States Army Transport Dorchester and the selfless acts of four Army chaplains who died aboard during World War II. Prosecutors in Iowa have charged a Christian military veteran with a hate crime after he vandalized a satanic statue that was placed in the state’s Capitol last month in Des Moines. The commander of the Arkansas Air National Guard’s 188th Air Wing resigned late last month for what the state’s Governor said is a protest of the Pentagon policy that pays for reproductive medical expenses, which includes out-of-state travel for abortions.

By sacrificed his 16-year officer career, million dollar pension and demanding his own trial for the “crime” of worshipping in public, he inspired over 300,000 petitioners, 35 pro-family groups and 75 Congressmen who mobilized to overturn the national military “non-sectarian prayer” policy, restoring the rights of military chaplains of all faiths to pray publicly, in uniform, according to the dictates of their conscience, even if they pray “in Jesus’ name.”
